Cities & Countries with the Most Starred Vegetarian Restaurants
New research shows London is the city with the largest number of Michelin-starred restaurants catering to vegetarians & vegans while France topped the list of veggie-friendly countries.
The research by travel tech company Sweet Inn has revealed which cities and countries have the most vegan and vegetarian friendly one, two and three Michelin star restaurants. Upmarket restaurants such as Eleven Madison Park in New York and Geranium in Copenhagen, have already embraced plant-based menus.
When it came to vegan and vegetarian friendly menus in Michelin star restaurants, the data has London on top, with 31 in total. They include Ikoyi, La Chapelle, Pollen Street Social, Texture, Trinity, Yauatcha and the Social Eating House.
However despite the performance by the English capital, overall the UK, with 73 meat-free accommodating restaurants, came in second to France with 145. Germany came in third with 63.
While France was streets ahead of other countries with its veggie-focused Michelin starred restaurants, its capital Paris only came in third on the city stakes with just 18, behind Hong Kong's 21.
